Culinary Buds

ELEVATE YOUR RECIPES

TAKE SWEET AND SAVORY DISHES TO A WHOLE NEW LEVEL

The hardest-working herb in the garden is lavender! This culinary sensation adds a slightly floral and very unique flavor to meat rubs, salad dressings, and grilling sauces for any type of protein. It doesn't stop there though! Lavender is a lovely compliment to anything with lemon, berry, or chocolate, making it a baking powerhouse as well.

SIMPLE, PURE INGREDIENTS

The only ingredient here is dried lavender. We harvest in July or August each year, and hang our lavender to dry for a minimum of 6 weeks to preserve the flavor and color. We then remove the buds, sift the stems out, and package the buds for sale.

Product FAQ

HOW CAN I USE YOUR LAVENDER BUDS?

A brownie, lemon bar, focaccia bread, martini with a lavender sprig, lemonade, steaming cup of latte all on a rustic wooden table with lavender sprigs laying around on it

Uses For Culinary Buds

Our culinary buds are 100% edible. We have cleaned and sifted them. You can use these buds whole as they are or grind into a powder using a coffee or spice grinder.

When ground, you can basically throw them into anything, from cakes and cookies to salad dressings and sauces.

Left whole, they can be used in beverages like lavender lemonades and lavender lattes.

Sample Recipe

Here is a favorite from the farm to get you started:

Lavender London Fog Latte

1-2 tsp Earl Grey Tea (or 1 Earl Grey teabag)
1 C milk
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1T lavender simple syrup
honey to taste

Mix the milk and vanilla together and heat to a simmer. Do not boil! Add the Earl Grey Tea in a bag or steeper, and let steep for 3-5 minutes. After steeping stir in the tablespoon of lavender simple syrup and a dash of honey for extra sweetness if desired. Sprinkle the top with a little cinnamon or ground lavender buds.
**If using Sleepy Bees Lavender Farms culinary lavender buds, there is a recipe for lavender simple syrup on the back of the package, otherwise just google it, the recipe is so easy!
